Roiyaru
The words were spinning around in my head; "city samurai... country ninja..." The thoughts were swirling around my mind like fish in a barrell, "I overestimate myself? And underestimate others?"
I was snapped back into reality after my nose started to function again. The horrible smell of blood. Blood, the very thing that keeps us alive. Shame it smells like excretement...
A sharp pain in my back rewards me for standing up to quickly. "Why me...?" I felt like I'd asked myself that question hundreds of times in the last 6 days, although I knew I hadn't.
I glance around, acknowledging the earthen texture on the walls, "Am I...underground?" I say outloud. "This has to be a dream...I'll wake up in a minute and Torue will still be alive...Everything will be ok."
My analysis of the room leads me to the ceiling. The grate in the top..."I'll try and escape through there I decide to myself."

Dorei
You manage to hoist yourself up and reach for the grate but you can't quite touch it with your current height.

The ninja came in with the samurai and left without him. You imagine that the samurai was being held somewhere in the barn.
You are in the central room, sitting alone on a stool with your sword at your side. There are two doors, one that the ninja came and left by the main door. The other being the one the ninja left the samurai behind, the door leading to the back part of the barn. Some hay is scattered around the place, and some other rebels are in the room with you, reading books by candlelight, or polishing weapons, or drinking. Through some holes in the roof, moonlight shines in. There are metal grates in the floor, the purposes of which you don't know.
Eventually, as it gets later, many of the other people in the room slowly slump into positions of sleep. Soon, you are the only one left awake.
And with it quiet, you can hear the sound of someone grunting as they strain themselves. It seems to be coming from below you and a little to the left... where one of the grates is.

Hmm...what's that I hear? Sounds of exertion...coming from one of the metal grates. I stride over and tap the tip of my sword on the grate. Damn...what's the word for 'hello?' in that language of theirs? Oh, right.
"Hello?"
I whisper.
As I wait for a reply a peer down into the darkness below the grate.

You see the samurai, reeking of blood, unarmed, and somewhat feeble looking, reaching towards the grate. It seems he is unable to reach it.
You know, according to your orders, it's your duty to help him out- you're officially working for Tori, afterall.
OOGM: I won't NPC DP... so yeah you might have to wait.

OOC: Since when was I feeble looking? Still, glad you could make it Surreal Oh, and feel free to NPC me IC: Dorei "Hello" a voice whispered from above. Squinting I still couldn't see anything, unless that was actully someone's outline... "Kon'nichiwa," I reply, whispering softly in return. In fluent japanese I quickly ask "Who are you? Why did you bring me here?"

Uh...what did he say? Let me think that over...who..are..you..okay, I can answer that.
"I'm a foriegner."
Damn, he spoke kinda fast there....
"Uh...I didn't do it."
I tap my sword against the grating. Hmm...I wonder how strong it is. I look around to see if anyone is awake, and then try to wedge the tip of my sword at the edge of the grate.

The grate groans in protest before springing out of the ground.
Dorei

Well....that was easy. These people sure don't make high-quality equipment.
"You're free...uh...Mister?"
I crouch down and rest my sword on my shoulder, reaching down with my left arm to help him out.
