OOC: Can't. A Latin project and a history term paper draft, among other things, have collided to form the ultimate nemesis for me. I'll be back once I vanquish them, which should be next week. Just consider Akira as standing in the inn doorway dumbstruck, an eyebrow raised and his mouth wide open.

... If confusion meant skill with a weapon, right now, Fu would have been one of those legendary samurai who could pick a dandelion leaf and cleave a barn in half. Reviewing the last couple of seconds - - Stopped by stranger.
- Challenged by said stranger.
- Bushwacked by aforementioned stranger.
- Invited by said stranger for drinks. Or something
Blarg! This did not make a great deal of sense. Fu shook his head, and wished that the world would make a little more sense. 'cuz right now, it made about as much sense as his crazy sister. And that said a lot. Namely, that it didn't make a lot of sense. Utterly bewildered, Fu found his mouth moving of its own accord, shaping the sounds "Sure. Why the heck not?" Informal? Probably. But the best he could manage without thinking too much about it.

Keijin Seiichi
While he did smile apologetically, his reply was puzzling at best. The man with the rice hat had gotten back to his feet and was immediately invited to follow the kid in green to whatever unknown destination he insisted on guiding us to. Just as easily he agreed, even despite the baffled look on his face betraying the confusion reigning just as fiercely in Keijin’s head.
“Well, since you don’t seem intent on telling us where we are going, and attacking by passers is more fun to you then your actual task, can I take a guess at your profession then?” Keijin asked quizzically.
He turned around and began walking towards the in, continuing talking before the kid in green could actually reply. “Considering your skill you’re obviously a warrior of sorts, so the military would be an option, but you’re at best far too chaotic, if not to say weird, to be a soldier.” He walked up the wooden steps of the inn. “You could be a bodyguard or mercenary, but they aren’t really renowned for attacking random people, and you don’t really have the looks of one either.”
He cast a glance backwards at him, entered the inn and picked up the kid’s hat lying just past the entrance, emerging while dusting it of. “Keeping in mind your abilities, not to mention your persistently mysterious acting, my best guess would be that you are either a spy or an assassin of sorts, ne?” Keijin returned to stand in front of the kid in green, offering him his hat back while raising his eyebrows to form a question mark.

Fu and Keijin
The kid thanks the sicklemeister and then turns to Keijin.
"Assassin might be fun, were I not afr-" he instantly shuts up. "Ah, nevermind. Anyway, assassin might be fun. Spying... yes, I do some of that. Enough to not have to guess when I say that you're a miner.
"But I don't think my true task at the moment can be described in a word. I believe you'll all find out soon enough what I do if you go with me as you say you will."
And then he vanishes.
Time passes. Maybe a few whole minutes of it.
Then he reappears, right in front of you.
"Oh yeah, forgot that you wouldn't be able to keep up with that speed. My bad."
And he begins walking along the road, towards the center of town. Rather slowly. Exaggeratedly slow.

Keijin Seiichi
It was somewhat disturbing the kid did not specifically deny he was an assassin, but then again, if he was an assassin, he would have gone about his business for more subtly. After all, he did not go concealed as far as Keijin could see –bearing that this could be another strange mystical trick- and he had just caused a riot in the tavern, even if Keijin and Akira had been the target of all hostility.
The young miner let was about to make a reply when the kid vanished in to thin air again as he had done before, leaving all to take a guess at his whereabouts. Moments later he reappeared.
"Oh yeah, forgot that you wouldn't be able to keep up with that speed. My bad." And he began walking. Slowly. Aggravatingly slow, just to pester the others. Keijin smiled and sighed frustrated at the same time, but decided not to let it bother him. If he wanted to move slowly, he could have it. He walked up to next to the kid in green and matched his ridiculous pace, strolling calmly through the quiet street.
“So… if we are to travel to this destination of yours at this speed, I’d say we’ve got time for an explanation or two. Could you begin by giving us a name? It’d be annoying to keep referring to you as the kid in green.”

OOGM: good point.
The group
The kid turns suddenly.
"Ah, gomen gomen! Where are my manners? I can't tell you my name, I'm afraid, but you can call me Yamagatana for now. I'm fifteen. Though..." suddenly his eyes harden. "I suggest none of you call me Yamagatana-kun."

Keijin Seiichi
"I suggest none of you call me Yamagatana-kun."
"Why not, Yamagatana-kun?" Keijin couldn’t help it. He had said it before he as much realized he was doing it, just to annoy the other. When he did realize he rolled his eyes and laughed to himself. “Sorry” he snickered. “Yamagatana it is then. Do I tell you my name or do you already know?” he glanced sideways. He wouldn’t be surprised if the kid already did.

Kejin
Instantly you are on your side, on the ground.
"What did I tell you?" the kid asks, in an annoyed manner. "Get up."
“Yamagatana it is then. Do I tell you my name or do you already know?” you ask.
"What do you think I am, a god or something? I just don't care what your name is."
The kid seems thoroughly pissed. Your apology has little impact on his attitude.

Keijin Seiichi
Even if the strike to the ground had hurt, Keijin could hardly suppress a smile as they walked on in silence, and neither did he try. If anything the kid’s temper was as much prove as Keijin could want that the other was, in fact, just a kid, even if he was extremely skilled. Knowing this Keijin felt a whole lot better about his companion, and walked on smiling broadly. After doing so for a while he decided to risk another question.
“So where did you learn those skills of yours? They’re pretty impressive.”
OOC: Just maintaining some small talk to give the others time to post.

Keijin
"Well, if I were to tell you now you wouldn't believe me. Maybe I'll tell you in the future, once you've become a bit more knowledgeable."

Akira
"What an odd day. This boy has attacked us, made others attack us, recruited us, attacked someone else, recruited him, and now attacked Keijin again," thought Akira to himself. He continued, "I'd tell him to get mental help, but I doubt he'd take kindly to that idea."
"Aaiiee..." he sighed as he picked up his pace behind the two leading the way. "So," he asked. "Might you be able to tell us more of your motives? I am curious as to why a fifteen year old would care so much for martial skills an would go around harvesting warriors."

All
"Now we're talking." The kid turns to face you. "My motives, eh?"
He thinks a moment.
"I guess I could tell you. I'm planning to infiltrate Tora with a group of fine warriors, sneak into the capitol, and dispose of the leader."

Keijin Seiichi“Wohow hold up!” Keijin froze in his track, raising up his hands. “I don’t care who you really are, or what your profession is, but I sure as hell am not an assassin! I’m willing to help defend my country, and if that involves killing, alright then, but you can’t expect us- me, to just go about murdering someone!”
OOC: Convince me, Yamagatana-san

OOGM: My pleasure. AllThe kid looks at Keijin questioningly and then begins laughing. "Oh, I never said anything about assassination or murder... Murder's no fun. I was thinking of barging in and just sort of defeating everyone... "Of course, if it's about your country and defending it, I am a natural Kame citizen as well and feel the same way. Most here do. Just, some of us know more than others... in a world like this one, it is not skill that determines power but knowledge. Those higher up than I... those who know more... they say something odd is stirring in the spirit world. They say odd things are happening... as if the world... were turning upside down..." It's clear he's not too happy about this topic. "...but there are points in this world. And if we strike those points, good things will happen. Tora's capitol is one such point. I'm going there, with a squad of warriors I select and train, to aid my country, Kame. I have this..." He puts his hand down his shirt and pulls out a scroll. "...if anyone I choose disobeys, they will be sent to the Kame Fortress, where they will be treated rather poorly. The country... not I... is doing this. The country that we belong to. "You," he addresses Fu. "You are just a pawn of the country either way. You," he addresses Akira. "You have taken on some of the less well known schools of fighting and have earned yourself scorn... perhaps scorn you are not aware of. You," he addresses Keijin once more. "Said you wish to serve your country. That is enough, right?" He places the scroll back under his shirt quickly and begins walking again, considering his piece said. OOGM: Don't do assume, say, or do anything half hearted.

OOC: Close enough Keijin SeiichiThe kid said little that served to convince him, and his mentioning of Kame Fortress put some strain on Keijin’s tolerance. Threats, indirect though they where, rarely won him over to a cause. Yamagatana read too much in his words. To defend was a long way from serving. Despite all this, the young boy’s mentioning of the spirit world was enough to pique his curiosity, so he kept his remarks to himself. There was no need in delving deeper on the subject. Instead he began to idly whistle a miner’s working song as he walked, repeatingly going over all recent events in his mind.
