Keijin and Akira
As you're walking, something unnatural occurs. Specifically, you see the ghostly image of a towering white beast, marred with red stains, fall over onto its side and fade away. It seems that the kid also saw this, as he stops in his tracks.
All
"It's begun. The white tiger has fallen. We must hurry!" Yamagatana seems agitated as he turns to face you. "Pick up the pace!"

Fu grinned. A pawn of the country. Well, yeah. He was a pawn of everyone these days. Pawn of his family, pawn of the military - maybe he could call himself Pawnboy. Or maybe not. Because that would be stupid. Fu opened his mouth, about to ask Yama-chan some question or another, when Yama-chan cut him off. "It's begun. The white tiger has fallen. We must hurry!" White tiger? What white tiger? Fu frowned, and looked around, and in general failed to see any white tiger, fallen or otherwise. Come to think of it, what was a white tiger? "Hol'd it, hol'd it. Hol'd line, mate. I'm jes' a simple herb'list... what's this white-tiger? Why we hurryin' up? Cities won't go anywhere."

Yamagatana doesn't turn, instead continuing to walk forward.
"If either of you two saw what I saw and know about the spirits to any extent, please tell the poor herbalist what happened."

Keijin Seiichi
Having whistled the song for long enough, Keijin had gone silent, and had found it to be anoyingly quiet all of a sudden. No more then a few steps later though the most amazing thing he had ever seen, including what he had seen in the last two days, happened right in front of his nose. With slow sluggish steps a lumbering beast, a tiger, whiter then the snowy mountain peaks bathing in the brightest sun, standing in height almost as tall as the young warrior himself, wandered onto the dirt road ahead of them. It was almost magnificent, if not for the ominous and very recent scars of battle and injure over its body, crimson stains soaked into its fur. The huge feline made only a few heavy steps before collapsing, and as it hit the ground vanishing into thin air.
Keijin blinked his eyes a few times, staring at the once more empty road, and looked at the others to assure himself it all hadn’t been an illusion. To his relief though the others had seen it to. Yamagatana even didn’t seem to find it strange, but did found it worrying. He turned to the others.
"It's begun. The white tiger has fallen. We must hurry! Pick up the pace!" and quickly put his words to deed.
Before Keijin could ask what exactly had just transpired, the man with the rice hat beat him to it, asking of the white tiger that he apparently hadn’t even noticed.
"If either of you two saw what I saw and know about the spirits to any extent, please tell the poor herbalist what happened." Was Yamagatana absent reply, his eyes locked foreward and keeping up the rather high pace.
“You didn’t see?” Keijin asked Fu, walking up besides him. “The white tiger just now?” He glanced over his shoulder at where the tiger had lain just seconds ago. For a moment he questioned the vision himself. This was all... Something told him he was probably still asleep in the tavern. “Could you give me a punch please?” He suddenly asked, turning back at Fu.

Akira
"There will be no need, Keiichi. I saw very well what you have just witnessed, and it bears nothing but a dark uncertainty for this land. I trust you, like most people should, already know of the double god Nijin, he who brings fortune and destruction to this land, he who holds the balance of our existence in his nimble digits as he weaves the tapestry of time. He, however, is not the sole being who helps shape our reality, for below him are the great bestial spirits, the guardians of these lands. They help to ensure prosperity for all who dwell on these islands. This land is under the influence of the Black Tortoise, Tori is looked over by the Red Phoenix, and Ryu by the Blue Dragon." He turned gravely towards the others. "To see the White Tiger fall means Tora is headed to dark times, as threads of good and necessary fortune miss their mark, unaided by the Tiger's watchful gaze. Famine, corruption, and general chaos may ensue, or so declare the prophets preaching their messages on the streets of towns and cities. Some of the crazier ones even insist that since these guardian spirits exist, malicious counterparts must exist to maintain the balance, and that is these being's chance to gain control of our fates. I highly doubt things are so complicated as that, but nonetheless, something must be done if there existed a force so powerful it could bring down the divine tiger."
He adjusted the straps on his pack as he quickened his pace to a jog to catch up to the boy. He announced, "Now, I know not disposing of Tora's leader will do at the moment, but maybe the ki's plans have some meaning to them, something beneficial to these islands. As it is, I can see such a death either throwing the nation into a vengeful fenzy, or, if darkness would have already descended upon them, it might delay any actions Tora or its neigbors will regret later. It's a far shot, I know, but something here," he says, holding his fist to his heart for a moment, "Tells me to trust him. So let us hurry to whatevr destination he has in mind. No time can be wasted in these matters of the divine."

OOC: When you post, you do it well, james. Keijin SeiichiEven if Akira spoke of ill omens, Keijin couldn’t help but feel exited at the foresight of getting involved in something as grand and mystical as he had described. When the young miner had set out to see the world he would never have expected to be thrown in an adventure of this magnitude. He hurried to keep up with the others. “I didn’t realize you were so knowledgeable of the spirits, Akira-san.” He said, genuinely impressed. “Where did you learn of these things?”

OOGM: Yay! James posts and he posts well. And the Kami Knowledge ability is useful, no?
Oh, and Yutaka/ERC, post! You must! I mean damn, I don't want to NPC you or anything.
Moving right along.
The Group
"It's as he says," Yamagatana says softly, addressing Futatsu. "A terrible evil has taken the heart of the once noble lord of Tora. I can not do much, and even together we can not do much once things like this start happening. But if we can destroy the center of Tora, we destroy the evil of Tora. Any chance to help our country, any chance, is welcome.
"Those raiders who have been destroying our country's livelihood at see are driven by the evil in Tora's capitol, Kyoto. Everything I do, no matter the manner in which I do it, is for the good of Kame. Now we must take to the sea and sail for Tora. We're here, in Kitakyushu- we're a few steps away from the waters. Let's go."
Futatsu
Having been throughly confused by the events and actions of your new comrades, you did not notice until now that you had walked with them all the way into the heart of the Kitakyushu port.
Akira and Keijin
The spectacle you saw was so stunning and mysterious that you were unawares of your surroundings until now.
The Group
You stand before a ramp (wooden plank) leading down to a set of docks. Yamagatana nimbly dashes down the ramp and hops into one of the boats- a simple sail boat, nothing fancy, nothing suspicious.
"Get in," he calls out to you. Activity is everywhere. After all, today is the day of the Kitakyushu draft. Samurai and wanderers and other, more shady, people line the streets and scuttle through the city like bugs.
At the moment at which Yamagatana calls out for you to join him in the boat, an man dressed in full plate armor -clearly an officer judging by the ornamentation of his atire- comes up and demands that you turn yourselves in. He says that overnight the draft became necessary and that refusing to join would result in you being thrown into prison.
Thankfully for you at this point, Yamagatana waves from his boat and calls cheerfully to the officer,
"Momo-chan! Yo!"
At which the man turns red in fury. For a moment, you're afraid he might attack the kid, but then you realize that he's angry because he can't. Perhaps Yamagatana was telling the truth and is high up.
"These guys are with me." The youth says, suddenly serious. The officer makes no reply and walks off.
"Anyhow, as I was saying, get in!" Yamagatana suddenly seems chipper. "Let's get this show on the road!"

Keijin Seiichi
With the talk of all things mystical, dangerous and adventurous to keep him distracted, time passed quickly to Keijin. It was only when they where practicly standing in the middle of a modest harbor village that he noted they had reached the shores of Kame. The stench of fish was omnipresent, assaulting his nostrils and setting in to his clothes with frustrating ease and intensity. This city also was alot more hectic then the calm mountain villages he had grown up in. People constantly seemed to be running him by, carrying stuff back and forth, shouting words and orders to one another. Keijin found it somewhat off putting and stressing. Still, when he got his first glimps of the ocean all that was quickly forgotten.
He had only once before seen the ocean, when he had traveled with his father to the coast on a merchant's erant. He had been too young to remember much of it, but the spectacular endless mass of water roused in him a sense of curiosity, an unsatable urge to explore and travel beyond the horizon.
"Let's get this show on the road!"
Only now did the boy realize he had been staring daftly at the great sea in front of him, whilst Yamagatana had called out to them to get on board. Keijin turned at him with an absent minded "huh?" escaping him. He then took note of the boat the green clad kid stood on and slowly began to analyze what he had said. "Oh." was the final conclusion of this process and he began walking the plank to the ship, staring down at the water rippling beneath him as he crossed the gap between ship and solid ground.

Good heaven. Spirits and ghosts and gods and signs and omens... Futatsu shook his head. How had he fallen in with this motley crew? One that apparently shared their hallucinations? As he'd passed over the ground where the "white tiger" had supposedly fallen, he'd felt nothing - none of the spine creeping or the chill of the grave or anything that the old stories held happened when you walked through a ghost. There was no story about walking through a god.
Hnn... a port town. The smells and sounds were unfamiliar, confusing; a good place to hide if you were on the run from a mountain family. Fu surveyed the crowd. Enough people here that you could probably hide for twenty years. But hey, there was time for that. The sounds under his feet changed, and Fu snapped out of his introspection, into the world of wooden planks and sea-splashing noises. Yama-chan had already climbed into a boat. Eyeing it with some distaste, Fu moved a little closer.
What a rickety looking coffin. His eyes surveyed the creaking timbers underneath Yama-chan, and the sickening movement side to side. Boats... Fu's stomach did a little twist. Who would climb into something like this smiling? He gritted his teeth, and looked up at Yama-chan.
"So, we're gettin' th' show on th' road by gettin' out on wa'er?" Fu snorted. "Forg've me, but if we're go'n' to go by wa'er, I woul'n' call it 'road'."
Everyone probably thought he was a mountain hick. Perhaps he was. But by heaven, things ought to make more sense than that.
[ooc: oh, Fu. Why do you make things so hard for these nice men?]

OOC: While we wait for Flak's exams...
Keijin Seiichi
Keijin stood by the railing of the small boat, looking out over the ocean. It was a beautiful sight. Absolutely mesmerizing. The only thing stirring him from contemplative staring into the endless waves was the coming aboard and somewhat anoyed mumbeling of the man with the rice hat. This suddenly had him realizing something.
"Hey, man with the rice hat, I don't think I caught you're name before. That or I've already forgotten, which is very well possible. I tend to be lacking in focus, and occasional forget things. Nothing personal of course." He cast him a friendly smile. "I'm Keijin, by the way. Keijin Seiichi, former miner and now pretty much a free wanderer."

OOGM: Sorry for the wait.
OOGM 2: Recap: Yamagatana has gotten into a boat. Akira and Keijin know eachother's names, Fu knows Keijin's name. Keijin has gotten into the boat, while Akira and Fu have not yet.
All
"Please come, Takaheshi-san, Sickle-san. Time grows short for us."
Yamagatana's no longer looking too happy, but rather very anxious.
"I sense something bad will happen to this harbor shortly and I'd like for it to happen after we leave.

OOC: Whee! RPG time!
Keijin Seiichi
The ominous words of Yamagatana quickly distracted Keijin again, who turned at him with a distressed frown. “Something bad?” as he muttered the words he gazed out to the harbor, where nothing out of the ordinary was transpiring. The normal buzzing of city life continued undisturbed. If at all something big was going to happen here no one seemed to be aware of it, which to Keijin was all the more of putting.
“How do you mean, something bad?” he asked again, noticeably nervous this time.

"It's just premonition," he says quietly. "But something's going to happen and I'd like to get out before I find out what it is!"

Keijin Seiichi
For some reason it didn’t really occur to Keijin to dismiss Yamagatana’s words as anything but the brash talk of a teenager inflating his ego. The young kid didn’t strike Keijin as making such dark statement son a whim. To add his face was far to serious to be kidding. Keijin stared back at the village, wondering, then forced his gaze away and back on the deck.
“Alright, let’s get this ship moving.” He said a little to quiet. “How can I help?”
